In-Person Orientation/Advising
For spring semester entry, new student orientations in Dickson are handled on a one-to-one basis via individual appointments.

New students should contact the NSCC office in Dickson at 615-740-5998 or e-mail Leslie.Lewis@nscc.edu to schedule their new student advising/orientation appointments.

Online Orientation for New Students
New students are also encouraged to go to the online new student orientation: EmPower - Orientation for New Students. Have your A# ready to begin the online orientation.

All first-time freshman (degree and certificate seeking students) are required to meet with an advisor prior to class registration regarding course selection, class registration, and career pathways. Advisors are available to help with advising/registration for classes.

High School Class of 2016 Seniors Must Apply by November 2: tennesseepromise.gov

TN Promise at NSCC Logo High school Class of 2016 seniors have from Aug 17–Nov 2, 2015, to enroll in Tennessee Promise, the state’s program that provides two years of community college or technical school tuition-free for any student graduating from a Tennessee high school. It includes a mentoring component, as well as a last-dollar scholarship to cover tuition and fees not covered by the Pell grant, the HOPE scholarship or TSAA funds.
