Chapter 33 - Post 9/11 GI Bill
The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible of the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

Chapter 30 - Active Duty/Former Active Duty
The Montgomery G.I. Bill (‘new’ G.I. Bill): This program provides educational benefits for individuals entering the military service after June 30, 1985. (Reservists and National Guard members should refer to Chapter 1606 and Chapter 1607 (REAP). Any previous recipient of “old” G.I. Bill benefits should report them as Chapter 30 on this form.

Chapter 31 - Vocational Rehabilitation & Counseling
Vocational Rehabilitation for Service-Disabled Veterans: This program is for individuals who have a compensable service-connected disability, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs determines that training and rehabilitation services are needed to overcome an employment handicap.

Chapter 32 - Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
Post Vietnam Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP): This is a voluntary contributory matching program for individuals entering service after December 31, 1976.

Dependents’ Educational Assistance program: This program is for dependents (spouse or children) of individuals who die or are permanently and totally disabled from service-connected causes.
