Perkins IV

Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education (Perkins IV) Act
The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 provides an increased focus on the academic achievement of career and technical education students, strengthening the connections between secondary and post-secondary education, and improving state and local accountability.

Purpose
The purpose of these funds is to develop more fully the academic, career, and technical skills of secondary and post-secondary students who elect to enroll in technical education programs.

Grants
Perkins is separated into two sections, the Base Grant and the Reserve Grant. The reserve grant is structured around events and activities that will benefit high school students who are potential college students. The base grant is centered on current Nashville State students and ways to help them graduate.
