Computer Information Systems

Comments from our Students

"I'm proud that I garnered the courage to return to school. Before I enrolled at Nashville State I had no job skills, but the faculty gave me the opportunity to learn and improve myself as a programmer. When I started school I was very apprehensive; however, I had a wonderful experience. The students are privileged to have educators who are aware of the latest developments and are committed to making a difference in the lives of the students and in the quality of work we perform. Computer Information Systems is a career program that is designed to prepare graduates for direct entry into the job market. This year I will earned an A.A.S. degree at Nashville State Community College. I am currently working in my field. I am grateful to Nashville State and the Computer Information System program for helping me believe in myself."

When I retired as an airline pilot, my wish was to continue learning new things, which were always in abundance in the airline industry. Wasting not time in returning to the educational realm, I have found the Information Technology curriculum at Nashville State community College an excellent source of thing useful and interesting to learn. At present I am working at certification in Cisco Networking Technology and have developed an interest in Oracle database technology as well.  Both curricula are taught by professors of impressive talent and patience, and who seem always available to answer student questions. The school seems intent on keeping abreast of new technology, as the class catalogue for each semester includes class listings for technologies and software which did not exist a short time prior. For those with a desire to learn new skills applicable to the world of technology, in my opinion, NSCC is among the best schools in the state.
