Events

The Foundation raises funds for NSCC programs that are not sufficiently funded by other sources and provides scholarships for NSCC students, many of whom do not qualify for federal financial aid and could not attend NSCC without financial assistance. Among other efforts, the Foundation hosts an annual Golf Classic in the fall and a Dinner and Auction Gala in February. Proceeds from both events benefit the General Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for deserving NSCC students. We are grateful for the support of our sponsors; it is their generosity that helps makes these events a success and ultimately aids the Foundation in achieving its goals.

Photography Show - Thursday, April 12, 2007
Nashville State Community College Foundation in partnership with the college's Visual Communications Department is hosting a Photography Show to raise funds for the Cathy O'Bryant Scholarship. The exhibit will take place at the main campus located at 120 White Bridge Road on Thursday, April 12 from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Ed Clark Gallery. Nashville State Community College faculty, staff, and students will present a collection of photographic works. The photographs in the show may be purchased with proceeds going to "The Cathy O'Bryant Scholarship Fund" at NSCC. Some items will be included in a Silent Auction.

Ms. O'Bryant was a master photographer and printer. She taught color processing and printing at NSCC for twelve years. During that time, she attracted many students who enrolled in her Open Color Print classes. She died on July 29 to breast cancer.

Ms. O'Bryant printed for many noted photographers in Nashville, some of who will have photographs in the show. These include Ed Clark, Marty Stewart, Bill Steber, and Joe Allen.

The Ed Clark Gallery hours are 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday - Thursday and 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
