Director of Workforce Development

Oversees the operation of a workforce development unit that works with business and industries to provide appropriate training and education for members of the emerging and incumbent workforces.

Minimum Standards: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred. Three years’ experience working in a business or industry required. Five years’ successful experience in developing a trained workforce, with a history of increasing responsibility in workforce development required. Successful experience in developing and marketing workforce programs to business/industry required.

Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs

Position Description

Nashville State Community College is seeking to fill the vacancy of Vice President. The vacancy has been created by a retirement. The Vice President reports directly to the President and serves as the college’s COO, overseeing the areas of Academic Affairs and Student Services. Nashville State is a multi-campus institution, enrolling about 10,000 students. The college has experienced significant growth over the last decade and projects more with the opening of two new off-campus sites.

Position Standards

  • An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher education required
  • Successful full-time post-secondary teaching experience or comparable experience in student services required
  • A minimum of five years of successful administrative experience at the department head level or above in an institution of higher education required
