Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs

Position Description

Nashville State Community College is seeking to fill the vacancy of Vice President. The vacancy has been created by a retirement. The Vice President reports directly to the President and serves as the college’s COO, overseeing the areas of Academic Affairs and Student Services. Nashville State is a multi-campus institution, enrolling about 10,000 students. The college has experienced significant growth over the last decade and projects more with the opening of two new off-campus sites.

Position Standards

  • An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher education required
  • Successful full-time post-secondary teaching experience or comparable experience in student services required
  • A minimum of five years of successful administrative experience at the department head level or above in an institution of higher education required

  • Healthcare Management – Coding: Part-time instructors needed to teach healthcare management coding courses. Must be approved AHIMA ICD-10. Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field with coding certification and a minimum of two years’ industry experience.
