English as a Second Language (ESOL) Instructor - Southeast Campus

AY, Term position – Salary Range $31,400 - $42,200.
Baccalaureate degree in Teaching English as a Second Language or a related field, a baccalaureate degree with 18 graduate hours in TESL/TEFL, a baccalaureate degree with additional TESL/TEFL certification, or a baccalaureate degree with significant relevant work experience is required. Related work experience, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated achievements related to the teaching area may be considered. A master’s degree in TESL/TEFL or a related field is preferred.

All positions require demonstrated computer literacy, sense of collegiality, proficiency in oral/written English, and the ability to adapt technology to a variety of teaching and learning situations. Duties may include day/evening, on/off campus teaching (e.g. Southeast Campus and dual-enrollment sites), online teaching, curriculum development, academic advising, and other responsibilities as assigned. Applicants with an interest in teaching and developing Web courses are encouraged to apply. A classroom presentation will be required for all candidates interviewed.

Mechatronics Instructor - Academic Year Position

Position Description

Mechatronics is a blend of mechanical, electrical and computerized technologies that together form a complex system used by many manufacturing, packaging and other modern operations. Nashville State Community College has a position opening for a full-time Instructor of Mechatronics for our Clarksville, Tennessee location. This position may require traveling to different Nashville State Community College teaching sites. Nashville State is a multi-campus institution, enrolling about 10,000 students. The college has experienced significant growth over the last decade and projects more with the opening of two new off-campus sites.

Position Standards

    A. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology is required; a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered.

    B. A minimum of five years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment designing and/or maintaining mechatronic systems (electro-mechanical systems under computer control) is preferred.
    C. Specific experience in electronics is desirable with additional experience in PLC programming, closed loop and open loop process controls, microprocessor control systems, fluid power systems and controls, robotics and automated manufacturing systems
    D. Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Salary is commensurate with relevant experience.

Faculty Needed - Main Campus

Biology Instructor

Academic-year, term position. Salary: $34,500 - $46,500
Master’s degree in biology from an accredited institution required. Multiple positions at Nashville State are available. One position requires an ability to teach microbiology and introduction to biology for majors and non-majors. Remaining positions require the ability to teach human anatomy and physiology.

Chemistry Instructor

Salary: $33,800 - $45,500
Master’s degree in chemistry from an accredited institution required. Responsibilities to teach include Fundamentals, General, and Organic Chemistry.

Mathematics Instructor

Academic Year, Term Position. Salary: $32,100 - $43,200
Master’s degree in mathematics from an accredited institution required. Responsibilities include teaching entry level math courses. Candidates with experience teaching statistics are especially encouraged to apply.
