Dual Enrollment
What is dual enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in one or more specified college course(s) for which the student will be awarded both high school and college credit. Students attend college classes at their high schools in which they earn both high school and college credit.
Why take college classes?
Students get a "head start" into their college experience. As a fully accredited higher education institution, Nashville State's general education credits and selected technical courses are transferable through prearranged agreements to colleges that students may choose.
What are the financial advantages?
Nashville State provides a high-quality, cost-effective education. As a state college, Nashville State keeps its tuition affordable while offering programs that contain a strong general education component. Credits earned in the Dual Enrollment program at Nashville State transfer to many four-year public and private universities. For students who decide to pursue a bachelor's degree, this option provides a less expensive and more convenient first two years.
Will these classes transfer?
Credits earned at NSCC will transfer to nearly all of Tennessee's four-year private and public universities as well as various other universities. However, the student is responsible for obtaining verification of transfer credit from their chosen university.
