What is the netLibrary?
NetLibrary contains the electronic versions, eBooks, of printed books that are available online. After you create an account on an NSCC campus computer, an eBook can be viewed online on any computer connected to the Internet. Since eBooks are online, they are available at your convenience -- anywhere, anytime.

How do I sign up for a netLibrary account?
To register for a netLibrary account and access the Nashville State eBook collection, you need to first access the Internet from any on-campus computer. Go to www.netlibrary.com. Complete the application (an email address is required). netLibrary will acknowledge your successful registration. Once you have registered, you can access the eBooks at your convenience anywhere, any time, any machine.

How do I find ebooks in the NetLibrary collection?

Netlibrary ebooks are in the catalog and will come up in a general catalog search.

For example, if you type "cloning" in the search line, you will discover over 20 holdings. Among those, The Genetic Revolution and Human Rights is available in netLibrary. To access the eBook:

1. Click View.
2. On the next screen, click the link that says "Click to Connect To."
3. From the new screen, you may either Browse or Check Out the book. If you choose Browse, you will have fifteen minutes to look at the book and decide whether you wish to check it out. During this period, you will have access to the book’s Table of Contents and the text itself.

You can see the Table of Contents to the left of the screen. If you wish to access the Index of the book, scroll down the Table of Contents window. If you wish to search for a particular subject within the eBook, click on the Find tab and type in your search word or phrase. Then click on Go.

After completing your search of the Nashville State library, you may wish to explore other local libraries’ holdings by searching the Athena catalog. Click Next to discover how to search Athena.

How do I find other ebook collections the library has?

On the library home page, click on "Catalog." At the top of the page, there are two tabs that will lead you to other collections: "Reference ebooks" and "Technical ebooks."
