Nashville State Community College continues its work as a regional and national center in applying research that supports and accelerates the implementation and practice of proven contextual teaching and learning methods. These activities are funded in part by the Nashville Science Foundation (NSF) and the Ford Motor Funds. Growing out of this effort have been requests for professional development workshops focused on education reform and innovation for community college and high school faculty.

Nashville State's partnership with Bellevue Community College and the University of Washington continues developing specifications for a more effective knowledge resource center that will support adaptation and adoption of curriculum resources and pedagogical methods associated with their use. Completion of these specifications is projected to lead to the development of a prototype for vetting by and dissemination to community colleges across the Advanced Technological Education community of NSF.
