Computer-Aided Drafting

Computer-Aided Drafting

The Computer-Aided Drafting Technical Certificate trains students for high-demand drafting careers. Students are challenged to expand and refine problem-solving skills while experiencing realistic class projects and job situations in preparation for success in the workforce. Students take courses related to their chosen field of work—the specific concentrations prepare students for careers in architectural engineering, civil and construction engineering, electrical engineering, or horticulture/landscaping.

Students learn design principles, current technology, business practices, and the use of AutoCAD and other software, quickly gaining required job skills. Nashville State's Career Services Office provides placement assistance to currently enrolled students and graduates seeking full- or part-time work.

Earn a One-Year Technical Certificate or a Two-Year A.A.S. Degree
The Computer-Aided Drafting Technical Certificate can be completed in one year. All of the required Computer-Aided Drafting Technical Certificate courses can be applied toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Architectural Engineering Technology or the Associate of Applied Science degree in General Technology if students choose to continue their education. Students who plan to apply the certificate toward an A.A.S. degree should consult their advisors about articulation options.
