The Student Government Association represents the student body at Nashville State. The S.G.A. serves the vital role of liaison between the campus administration and the student body.
NSCC Executive Committee
The S.G.A. has a designated member who serves on the Nashville State Executive Committee, which is the policy-making committee for the college.
The Voice of the Students
The S.G.A. is charged with the responsibility of communicating the ideas and opinions of the student body at-large to the administration of the college. The S.G.A. will use surveys, focus groups and/or open forums to ascertain information from the student body to communicate to the administration.
Members of the S.G.A. are elected by popular vote and serve for a term of one academic year. All standing committees at the college include a Student Government Representative. It is the responsibility of each standing committee chair to appoint, with the President’s approval, a student representative to each campus committee. Some of the committees that include student representatives are Graduation and Diversity.
