College Level Examination Program - CLEP
Nashville State Community College is an open testing site for the National College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Under the national open testing arrangement, individuals from any institution (not just NSCC), or profession may elect to take the CLEP examination. Students may then have their scores forwarded to the college of their choice.
(Note: Prior to taking the test, it is advisable for examinees to contact the college or university of their choice to verify that CLEP exam credits are acceptable at that particular institution.)
Exams are 90 minutes long and made up primarily of multiple choice answers. Scores are available immediately following the exam except those subjects requiring an essay. Only one exam per appointment is permitted.
Total Fee is $85.00 per test.
Forms of payment:
$70.00 payable by check or money order to CLEP, or charge to Visa, American Express, Mastercard, or Discover.
$15.00 (check or money order only) payable to Nashville State Community College. NO CASH.
CLEP exams are offered at the NSCC Testing Center almost every Tuesday and Thursday excluding holidays. CLEP exams are not offered during the weeks of NSCC's midterm and final exam periods. Please check with the Testing Center at 615-353-3564. Appointments are necessary - 615-353-3564
