Nashville State Community College

Third-Party (Company-Sponsored or Grant-Sponsored) Authorizations

If a student’s employer has agreed to pay the tuition and fees, the employer must mail an authorization letter on company letterhead to the Bursar’s Office prior to the beginning of each semester indicating which fees will be paid and the dollar limit (if applicable) for each employee.  (A purchase order signed by an employee with purchasing authority will also be accepted.)  Please include the employee’s name and social security number or NSCC student id number.  Any fee waiver, discount form, or grant voucher must be completed and turned in to the Bursar’s Office at the time of registration.  (Discount forms or grant vouchers may be turned in at the time of registration or prior to registration.)  It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all financial arrangements to pay tuition and fees have been made prior to enrolling in classes.

Companies who wish to pay their employees’ tuition and/or fees and previously have not been a customer of Nashville State Community College must complete a W-9 form to include with the authorization letter on company letterhead and mail directly to the Bursar or fax to 615-353-3727 so the company’s account can be added to our registration system.  Please allow 1-2 days for processing after receipt of the information.

Students who are employees of companies with tuition-reimbursement plans should make financial arrangements to pay their tuition and fees when they enroll in classes.  These plans usually do not pay for tuition and fees when the student registers, but rather they directly reimburse the employee after the course is completed and a grade is earned.

Additional Information for Fall 2008

Due to the requirements of our registration systems, all third party authorization letters and/or forms must be received by the Bursar's office by Aug. 7, 2008. If this deadline cannot be met, the student should expect a delay in the registration processing time. For additional information, please call the Bursar's office at 615-353-3312 or 615-353-3533.
