Bernard (Bernie) Anderson received his B.A. from Hamline University in his home state of Minnesota.  Following that, he moved to Montana to attend Montana State University where he received his Ph.D. in chemistry (inorganic) on the study of platinum-base chelates and “nanowires”.  After three years as a research associate at Vanderbilt University, he was hired as Program Coordinator and Instructor of chemistry at Nashville State Community College.  Professionally, his interests include chemistry related instrumentation, Labview programming for experiment automation and computer-based chemical education.  He is married to another Minnesota native who, unlike him, misses the winter snow and below freezing temperatures.

Flora Setayesh is an assistant professor in chemistry and serves as the program coordinator at Nashville State Community College (NSCC).  She has been employed at NSCC for three years and has served on several committees, task forces, and faculty senate. She is the principle investigator of an NSF chemistry grant which is recommended for funding.  She is also the chemistry team leader for the TBR’s Academic Audit Pilot Program.  Flora is currently an advisor for the international student organization, and faculty liaison to Middle College.  She received her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.  She has publications in Biochemistry and Chemical Research in Toxicology Journals and holds memberships in the American Chemical Society and Tennessee Academy of Science.  It is her genuine desire to provide chemistry students with the best education possible.  Her goal and focus has been to not only attract, but also retain students in chemistry classes.  Flora is married and has a five-year old daughter who looks and acts just like her!
