The vision of the Music Technology program is to continue to offer the highest quality education in a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate and satisfy the technical and other needs of an increasing enrollment.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Music Technology program is to provide a well-rounded curriculum of music-related technical, creative, and business courses designed to prepare students for a variety of employment opportunities within the music industry.

The Music Technology Technical Certificate

The Music Technology Technical Certificate is designed to prepare students for entry-level opportunities in the recording and music industries. The requirements for earning the technical certificate may be fulfilled in one year.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of the program should possess the ability to:
• Demonstrate proficiency with typical professional recording equipment and computer systems.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the terminology and operations of the music and recording industries.
• Apply critical thinking skills to meet challenges in the workplace.
• Function competently in entry-level music business and recording/audio positions.
• Work effectively with others in a creative team environment.

Students may choose from an impressive list of introductory courses in a variety of technical, creative and business related studies that are aligned with their specific career goals. Most courses are offered in day and evening sections.
A high school diploma or G.E.D. high school equivalency meet the admission requirements for the Music Technology Technical Certificate.

Our recording studio and music/computer lab feature a huge selection of state-of-the-art analogue and digital equipment, a wide variety of acoustic environments, musical instruments and systems selected and designed to meet the particular needs of students in each of our classes.
