Hospitality Management Apprenticeship

Overview

Nashville State Community College has partnered with several facilities within the hospitality industry in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area to launch both National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF) and American Hotel and Lodging Educational Insitute (AHLEI) certified apprenticeship programs. These programs are also registered with the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.

NRAEF Certified Restaurant Management Apprenticeship

The Restaurant Management Apprenticeship program is a 4000-hour on-the-job learning apprenticeship that is combined with the AAS degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Food and Beverage Management.

This program can be completed in as little as 24 months.

Potential career opportunities: Restaurant manager, food and beverage manager, food sales, food purchasing, food service director in healthcare, college, or prison operations, etc.

NRAEF Certified Restaurant Supervisor Apprenticeship

The Restaurant Supervisor Apprenticeship program is a 2000-hour on-the-job learning apprenticeship that is combined with the Food and Beverage Management Technical Certificate.

This program can be completed in as little as 12 months.

Potential career opportunities: Restaurant manager, food and beverage manager, food sales, food purchasing, food service director in healthcare, college or prison operations, etc.

NRAEF Certified Restaurant Service Professional Pre-Apprenticeship

The Restaurant Service Professional Pre-Apprenticeship program is a 1000-hour on-the-job learning pre-apprenticeship that is combined with the Food and Beverage Service Technical Certificate.

This program can be completed in as little as one semester.

Potential career opportunities: Restaurant server/hostess/greeter, catering or banquet server, food service supervisor, entry-level culinary positions, etc.

NRAEF Certified Restaurant Service Professional High School Pre-Apprenticeship

The Restaurant Service Professional Pre-Apprenticeship for high school students is a 1000-hour on-the-job learning pre-apprenticeship that is combined with the Food and Beverage Service Technical Certificate.

This program is completed during the student’s junior and senior years of high school.

Potential career opportunities: Restaurant server/hostess/greeter, catering or banquet server, food service supervisor, entry-level culinary positions, etc.

AHLEI Certified Hotel Manager Apprenticeship

The Hotel Manager Apprenticeship program is a 4000-hour on-the-job learning apprenticeship that is combined with the AAS degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Hotel Management.

This program can be completed in as little as 24 months.

Potential career opportunities: Hotel manager, sales assistant, hotel revenue manager, conference services manager, catering manager, event planner, etc.

AHLEI Certified Hotel Supervisor Apprenticeship

The Hotel Supervisor Apprenticeship program is a 2000-hour on-the-job learning apprenticeship that is combined with the Hotel Management Technical Certificate.

This program can be completed in as little as 12 months.

Potential career opportunities: Hotel department supervisor, sales assistant, hotel department trainer, conference services associate, catering supervisor, event planner, etc.

AHLEI Certified Guest Service Professional Pre-Apprenticeship

The Guest Service Professional Pre-Apprenticeship program is a 1000-hour on-the-job learning pre-apprenticeship that is combined with the Lodging Guest Service Technical Certificate.

This program can be completed in as little as one semester.

Potential career opportunities: hotel associate, front office associate, housekeeping associate, concierge, guest services associate, etc.

The Guest Service Professional Pre-Apprenticeship for high school students is a 1000-hour on-the-job learning pre-apprenticeship that is combined with the Lodging Guest Service Technical Certificate.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Nashville State Community College School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management is to promote the success of culinary and hospitality management students and apprentices by building career pathways that incorporate collaboration of students, industry partners, and educational providers to result in the production of a career pipeline of trained culinary and hospitality professionals for the ever-expanding hospitality industry in Middle Tennessee and beyond.
