2022 Commencement Ceremony

Congratulations Fall 2021, Spring, and Summer 2022 classes! This year, Nashville State will be celebrating more than 1,000 graduates. They have worked hard and achieved their goal of earning a college degree or certificate. These graduates are a continuing part of the College's legacy and commitment to Building Bridges, Changing Lives. We look forward to recognizing and celebrating these graduates.

Cap & Gown Ordering

At no cost to students, cap and gown ordering begins on February 16. The deadline to order caps and gowns is March 21. Order your cap and gown via the Jostens website.

Anyone who plans to participate in the ceremony must order a cap and gown.

Cap & Gown Pick-up

April 20 and 21 from 10 AM to 5 PM

Each graduate that placed an order by the deadline (March 21) will receive a cap and gown and other related items and information. Your cap, gown, honors and veterans' cords, and other graduation materials will be sent to the campus you selected when you placed your order.

Pick Up Locations:

  • Clarksville Campus
  • Dickson Campus
  • Humphreys County Campus (Graduates will be contacted individually for pick-up.)
  • Southeast Campus
  • White Bridge Road (Front of Kisber Building)

Items of Note:

  • When you arrive for cap/gown pick-up, please follow signs to the designated retrieval area.
  • It is imperative that students remain in their vehicles at all times. Do not exit your vehicle or allow passengers to exit your vehicle at any time while on campus.
  • Follow all instructions provided by staff and security for the safety of everyone.
  • While it is not required, we encourage anyone who will open their vehicle window during pick-up to wear a mask.
  • Cap and gown pick-up is reserved for students who placed a cap and gown order by the posted deadlines.
  • If you are unable to retrieve your cap/gown order and must send another person, please notify us by email at graduation@nscc.edu in advance. Please include your name and the name of the person designated to pick up your cap and gown. Make sure the designated person brings a photo ID with them.

Graduation Regalia:

  • Graduates can only wear college-approved ceremonial medals, pins, cords, and stoles with their cap and gown. Nashville State approved stoles and cords include, SGA, PTK, NSLS, Kappa Beta Delta, Honors College, Nashville GRAD, and Veterans. Nashville State approved pins and medallions include, Nursing, Honors, and SGA. Hijabs are approved headwear with the cap secured to it.
  • No other adornments or embellishments such as pins, stoles, cords, ribbons, scarves, flowers, medallions, patches, or stitchery, among others, may be worn. If any alteration occurs to the gown you will be provided another to wear the day of commencement.
  • Honors Cords: If you have an honors designation you will receive your academic cords with your cap and gown.
    • 3.90-4.0 Summa Cup Laude: Gold
    • 3.75-3.89 Magna Cum Laude: Silver
    • 3.5-3.74 Cum Laude: Teal

Report to the 1st floor and the area you were in for commencement rehearsal. Staff will be present to assist you.

The commencement procession will begin promptly at 6 PM.

Live Streaming

The commencement ceremony will also be live-streamed and the link is as follows: lipscomb.edu/live. The link will be active on the day of the commencement.

Commencement Programs

A commencement program will be placed in each graduate's seat for the ceremony. Other programs for family and friends will be available in the lobby on the day of commencement. The deadline for a graduate's name to appear in the program is March 25, 2022.

Diploma Frames

Diploma frames can be ordered online from the Nashville State Bookstore at NSCCshop.com.
