Tennessee Flavors Supports Homegrown Talent

Tasting Event to Highlight Local Food and Beverage Artisans

NASHVILLE, Tenn. February 21, 2017 – Local and regional food and beverage artisans will gather once again for a March 7th event, set to benefit the students of Nashville State Community College through scholarship funds and gifts to the College that meet critical program needs. The 6th Annual Tennessee Flavors food and beverage tasting event will be held at Nashville State Community College’s Main Campus on White Bridge Road. The public is HIGHLY encouraged to attend. Guests will enjoy unlimited samples from premier food and beverage artisans at this celebration of homegrown flavors and talent. Over 50 food and beverage vendors are expected to participate.

Tennessee Flavors is presented by Piedmont Natural Gas and Springer Mountain Farms, and will feature local chefs and artisans from all around the Middle Tennessee area. Students from Nashville State’s Culinary Arts program will also be featured and will assist chefs and other vendors throughout the evening. Other event sponsors include John E. Mayfield, Pinnacle National Bank, Sysco, HCA/Tristar, Regions, Textbook Brokers, Kroger, and many others.

New this year is the addition of a Flavors Knife Fight presented by Springer Mountain Farms Chicken to showcase the talents of the students with mentorship from Nashville chefs. This “Fight” will pair Nashville State Culinary students with area chefs as part of Springer’s Celebrate the Chef program in their mission to cultivate strong bonds among the culinary community. The two teams will receive a mystery basket of items and work together in the timed event to prepare a dish. Guest judges will determine a Flavors Knife Fight winner and attendees get to enjoy the show before sampling the dish.

Participants for this year’s event will include 8 Lavender Lane, Amber Falls Winery, Bacon & Caviar, Bang Candy Company, Cabana, Etc., Farm Burger, Frothy Monkey, Germantown Café, Grinder’s Switch Winery, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, Margot Café & Bar, Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint, McConnell House, Midtown Café, Mimi’s Girl Artisan Bakery, Music City Center, Nelson’s Greenbrier Distillery, Nicoletto’s Pasta Co., Noble Springs, Nomzilla, Nucci’s Gelato, Pastry Babies, Pickers Vodka, Red Pony, The Randy Rayburn School of Culinary Arts at Nashville State Community College, Stonehaus Winery, Tenn South Distillery, The Salted Table, Trattoria Il Mulino, Union Common, Urban Grub, Whisper Creek Tennessee Sipping Cream, and more.

Tickets for the March 7th event range from $50-$65 per guest and may be purchased online at tnflavors.org. Doors open at 5:30pm.
