Nashville State Community College to offer evening classes at Hunters Lane High School this fall

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 8, 2019) – Nashville State Community College announced today the offering of evening classes at Hunters Lane High School starting this fall. This is in preparation of a new campus strategically positioned in Madison to serve North Davidson County. The Madison campus, located at 1520 Gallatin Pike, is scheduled to open in 2021, and will be the seventh satellite location for Nashville State.

“While we look forward to opening our new campus, we did not want to delay increasing access to quality higher education and becoming a part of the community,” said Nashville State President, Dr. Shanna Jackson. “We are Nashville’s Community College and are excited about having a more permanent presence in North Davidson County.”

Nashville State will offer seven evening courses starting in August with plans to add more based on demand. Classes will be offered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights and include English, Intro to Business, and ESOL courses. Prospective students are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming registration events to be held at the Southeast campus located in Antioch. These events will take place on July 9th from 4 – 7 p.m. and on July 11th from 10 – 1:00 p.m. More information can be found here.

The principal of Hunters Lane, Dr. Susan Kessler, sees this as an opportunity for her students, “Hunters Lane High School is thrilled to partner with Nashville State Community College to offer college classes within our community. There is no better way for us to encourage our high school students to take advantage of college than to hold classes in our classrooms.”
