Cognitive Recognize elements of good patient care and prioritize them before less important elements in the operating room.
Psychomotor Accurately plan for and perform duties of a surgical technologist in the scrub role in common surgical specialties.
Affective Accurately plan for and perform duties of a central processing technician in common surgical support roles.

Outcomes at the course, semester, and program level help support and guide the Central Sterile Processing program teaching and learning process in acquiring fundamental knowledge about the central processing unit, operating room and patient, toward safely performing necessary and appropriate skills and adapting to changing situations.

Program Outcomes

As a program without formal external programmatic accreditation, the NSCC Central Sterile Processing program participates in The Tennessee Board of Regents Academic Audit process to ensure quality. As part of that process the programs tracks and reports outcomes in five areas consistent with national outcome standards for healthcare education programs: Program Retention (and completion), Outcome Assessment Examination pass rate, Graduate Placement, Graduate Satisfaction, and Employer Satisfaction. These outcomes are defined as follows:
