Be a Nashville GRAD

We know that completing college can be a tough task, especially for students who already work hard to cope with many responsibilities while earning their degrees. And we want to help.

The Nashville GRAD program provides eligible students with financial and academic support while pursuing a full-time education at Nashville State. We will give you the support you need to complete your degree.

Eligibility Requirements

Students using Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect are eligible for Nashville GRAD.

  • Enroll full-time at Nashville State Community College in an Associate Degree or Technical Certificate program*
  • Reside full-time in Davidson County one year prior to completing the FAFSA
  • Not have previously earned an associate's or baccalaureate degree, and have less than 15 credits prior to applying to the program

How to Join

New and Continuing Nashville State Students - The Nashville GRAD application deadline for Spring 2023 is January 13, 2023.

  • New students need to complete an application to Nashville State for spring 2023, continuing students should register for spring 2023 classes.
  • Attend New Student Orientation (new students only)
  • Complete your 2022-23 FAFSA (all students)
  • Fill out the Spring 2023 Nashville GRAD Application. Please use your A# and password to log in (same information to log in to your myNSCC account). Once reviewed, a Student Success Advisor will contact you regarding eligibility and next steps.

High School Seniors (Class of 2023) – Nashville GRAD application deadline for Summer/Fall 2023 is August 4, 2023.

  • Complete an application to Nashville State (for Summer or Fall 2023).
  • Fill out the Summer/Fall 2023 Nashville GRAD Application. Please use your A# and password to log in (same information to log in to your myNSCC account). Once reviewed, a GRAD team member will contact you regarding eligibility and next steps.
  • Complete 2023-24 FAFSA
  • Attend New Student Orientation

To maintain eligibility, students must:

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Complete the FAFSA each year
  • Participate in Nashville GRAD's academic and personal success initiatives
