Nashville State Welcomes Kimberly Leifker as Director of The Teaching Center
Nashville State Community College has hired Kimberly Leifker as Director of the Teaching
Center, a full-time professional role that leads innovative, evidence-based teaching
and professional learning.
With over a decade of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and higher education, Leifker brings a wealth of expertise to the role.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kimberly to Nashville State," said Dr. Johannah Williams, vice president of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development. "Her instructional design experience, extensive teaching experience, and dedication to learner success will strengthen our commitment to teaching excellence and student achievement."
Most recently, Kimberly served as an instructional designer with the state government’s Office of Organizational Agility. There, she created impactful learning solutions and training programs for statewide initiatives.
Before that, Leifker spent seven years as a lecturer at Middle Tennessee State University.
Her teaching experience also extends to Lake Tahoe Community College, Kishwaukee Community College, Waubonsee Community College, and Northern Illinois University.
"I am passionate about turning ideas into engaging, accessible learning experiences, and I look forward to working with our faculty," Leifker said.
She holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from Northern Illinois University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Media Studies with a minor in Sociology from the University of Illinois.
