SOAR Program
SOAR seeks to capitalize on opportunities already offered by Nashville State to better prepare our students and develop leaders on campus. By emphasizing service learning, student involvement, goal setting, as well as career readiness and the transfer experience we want to ensure their success while on campus and in their next challenge.
S.O.A.R. Student Leadership Program
Students who complete the program graduate with leadership distinction which is shown by an honors cord at Commencement and an embossed seal on their transcript.
How to Complete the Program
To complete the program, students are asked to complete tasks in each of the four categories.
| Serve the Community | support community college service projects for a total of 3 hours |
| Orient to Nashville State | participate in a club, serve on student government, join an honor society, or become a student worker |
| Achieve Personal Goals | set a SMART goal for you to complete with help from Student Life and Peer Mentors |
| Rise to Your Next Challenge | attend a career or transfer fair, participate in a business department workshop, or meet with career services |
