Family of Pete Faison Endow Scholarship in His Honor for Nashville State IT Students

1.19.24

In spring 2022, Pete Faison was preparing to graduate with an Information Technology degree. Sadly, he passed away before earning that life milestone. To honor his life and memory and to aid others in reaching that goal, the Pete Faison Endowed Scholarship will help Computer Information Technology students. The scholarship is available due to a generous gift to the Nashville State Community College Foundation from Pete's family.

Pete’s mom, Kimberlee, and dad, Pete, having reached out to the Foundation to inquire about setting up a scholarship, said, “From an early age, Pete was fascinated with computers; this interest eventually led him to Nashville State Community College and a major in Cyber Security.”

“Pete felt that information security was of utmost importance and felt compelled to give us regular advice like, “Change your passwords regularly and Amazon is a great stock (and, he was right about both!).

“We hope that the Pete Faison scholarship will help other students to achieve their dreams of careers in the area that Pete so loved and continue his legacy for many years.”

Pete will posthumously be awarded his associate degree during the Spring 2024 commencement.
