Nashville State Community College and American Job Center Launch Integrated Campus to Boost Humphreys County Workforce
Beginning July 1, Nashville State Community College and the American Job Center (AJC)
will share one integrated campus at Nashville State’s Humphreys County location, 695 Holly Lane in Waverly. Currently, the AJC operates in a separate building
next to the college.
To better support learners, the campus will transition to a four-day-a-week schedule from the current two days a week. This will provide expanded class opportunities for enrolled college students.
Services that residents depend on and are familiar with will not change. The partnership will bring renewed energy and opportunities through a shared location and a more streamlined approach that brings education and workforce services together more efficiently.
Humphreys County Economic and Community Development Ashley Horan, Workforce Essentials President Marla Rye, and Nashville State Humphreys County Campus Director Telaina Wrigley have worked closely to ensure a smooth transition and expand the services available to residents.
“By combining our services under one roof, we are positioning Humphreys County residents for greater access to education, job training, and employment opportunities,” the trio said in a joint statement. “This partnership creates a stronger, more coordinated approach to meeting local needs, and strengthens our community and supports long-term growth.”
To kick off this strengthened partnership, Nashville State Humphreys County campus will host two upcoming opportunities through a grant received by the AJC and funded through the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Office of Reentry. This second-chance opportunity is for justice involved or justice impacted members of the community to participate in hands‑on flooring classes free of charge. The classes will be taught by the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Dickson.
