The Health Science A.A.S. degree is designed for students who are interested in transferring to a baccalaureate program and for those students who need to follow a course prerequisite program of study (CPOS) for admission into one of the three A.A.S. degree programs offered within the Healthcare Professions Division, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, and Surgical Technology. There are also two pathways that reflect a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Those two pathways include the NSCC/Belmont Partnership and the Transfer BSN.

There are five pathways from which to choose within the Health Science A.S. major.

  • Nursing A.A.S.
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant A.A.S.
  • Surgical Technology A.A.S.
  • Transfer BSN
  • NSCC/Belmont BSN Partnership

All pathways will include the following general education classes:

  • ENGL 1010
  • ENGL 1020
  • COMM 2025 or COMM 2045
  • Humanities - 9 credits (a minimum of 3 must from a literature class)
  • PSYC 1030
  • SOCI 1010
  • History - 6 credits
  • BIOL 2010
  • BIOL 2020
  • MATH 1530
  • All pathways will include NSCC 1010 for first-time freshmen.
