The Entrepreneurship, Logistics, Management, and Marketing and Retailing concentrations of the Business program prepare you for successful careers in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and service industry organizations.
The Business program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Business students are eligible for membership in Kappa Beta Delta which is an international honor society established by the ACBSP to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management and administration pursuing associate degrees, and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
The Entrepreneurship concentration provides the knowledge and skills to become an entrepreneur in today’s changing job market. Instruction in the areas of entrepreneurial planning, managing, marketing, accounting, and supervising are emphasized. Entrepreneurship prepares students to enter the small business environment as small business owners and managers.
The Logistics concentration prepares students for careers in the supply chain management field. Providing a comprehensive education in the business of logistics, the program integrates business management and computer information systems courses with the latest logistics practices and technologies. Begin your successful career with the necessary mastery of supply chain management principles, warehousing and distribution, inventory control, traffic management, regulatory compliance, and various analytical tools.
The Management concentration provides knowledge and skills required for careers in a wide variety of service, merchandising, and manufacturing organizations. Develop the skills to own and operate a business, or to prepare yourself for career opportunities as a production manager, store/office manager, or sales and marketing director.
The Marketing and Retailing concentration prepares you for the process of identifying what, when, how much, where, and why consumers want specific products and services. Learn how Internet technology provides the marketer world-wide access to meet the needs of a global market. Start your successful marketing career fully skilled in customer service and sales techniques, communications, management and planning, general business practices, economics, and organizational and consumer behavior.
