Program courses will prepare you to identify diagnoses and assign the proper CPT and ICD-CM codes with a working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, and medical terminology.

In order to become a certified coder, you must complete a coding certification exam provided by one of the following groups:

While not required, it is strongly recommended that graduates of this program sit for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam in order to earn a CPC credential. The CPC is nationally recognized by employers seeking ethical, accurate, and professional medical coders.
