Growing up, James Wiser knew that education was the cornerstone of a solid foundation in life, but what he didn’t know was the best place to start.

As the director of Community and Corporate Education for St. Johns River State College in Florida, Ray is using what he learned at Nashville State to bring together academia with the needs of businesses and employers.

To quickly get up to speed and to boost his confidence, he took some remedial and ESOL courses at Nashville State, before deciding on the Surgical Technology program, which he “saw as a gateway to the healthcare profession.”

Travis White came to Nashville State to change his career path and increase his earnings. Using the Tennessee Reconnect tuition assistance grant, White studied Electrical Engineering Technology.

At the encouragement of friends who had attended Nashville State, he enrolled.
