Jennifer Goncalves

Associate Professor / Program Coordinator, Early Childhood Education

Jennifer (Jen) Goncalves is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Early Childhood Education at Nashville State Community College. She teaches a variety of early childhood education courses, including Introduction to Early Childhood Education, Infant and Toddler Development, Child Development, Family Dynamics and Community Involvement, Language and Literacy in Early Childhood Education, and Final Practicum. Based at the White Bridge Campus, Jen's favorite part of teaching at NSCC is building connections with students and supporting them as they work toward achieving their professional goals.

Rachel Lewis

Assistant Professor, Biology

Rachel Lewis is an Assistant Professor at NSCC. She teaches Biology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, and Microbiology courses. Rachel has taught at the Humphreys County Campus, Dickson Campus, and online.

Maayan Ornath

Assistant Professor, English

Maayan Ornath is an Assistant Professor teaching English composition and literature courses at Nashville State Community College. Mostly teaching at the Clarksville Campus, she established NSCC’s “Composition Competition” for the best essay written by a first-year student, and she is teaching students everything they need to know to Podcast!

Harlan Pease

Associate Professor, Communication Studies and English

Harlan Pease is an Associate Professor at NSCC. He teaches Speech Communication and English courses at the White Bridge Road Campus, online, and in the THEI prison program. Harlan has 18 years of teaching experience.

Jessica Rabb

Professor, Biology
Faculty Fellow, 2025 – present

Jessica Rabb is a Professor at NSCC. She teaches Biology courses and is the lead for NSCC’s first year experience course, NSCC 1010. Dr. Rabb teaches at the White Bridge Campus, online, and at our prison campuses.

Yvonne Simmerman

Assistant Professor, Sociology
Faculty Fellow, 2026 – present

Ms. Simerman is an Assistant Professor of Sociology who is currently teaching Introduction to Sociology and Social Problems. She has taught at different campuses including Dickson, Madison, White Bridge Road and Southeast. She finds that teaching online is the most challenging part of her duties. Interacting with students in the classroom is much more rewarding.
